5:00PM     RHYTHM OF RELEASE WITH STEPHANIE NAKASIAN (IN PERSON & VIRTUAL)
In jazz and rhythmic music, space and time are perhaps even more important than tone. Feeling space determines how much rhythm we have in our singing and how much ‘forward motion’ (and therefore communication and impact) our singing and our song and story will have.
In addition, planning and executing how much ‘space’ and time are between the end of one phrase and the beginning of the next are crucial to the flow of the song.

This workshop studies the “rhythm of the release” and presents ideas and exercises for feeling space and time and for using these ideas to promote forward motion and technical freedom
