The Proteus New Plays Festival showcases rehearsed readings of new scripts by Z Playwrights Lab and Z Artist Members. Get a first look and add the most crucial element to developing a play, The Audience!
Each reading is presented twice during the first week of the Proteus Festival, and audiences have the opportunity to rate the plays to help us select the Finalists. Finalist Readings are presented as part of the Proteus Block Party where a last round of audience ratings helps choose the 2025 PNPF Audience Favorite! Your Audience Favorite receives a workshop production 2-week run in January, 2026 as part of our 25-26 Curtain Up! New Plays Series.
