COVID-19 Update 3/24/2020

Hi friends,

Here’s some good news: although we’ve suspended public performances, we’re moving ahead with presenting some of our programming online, focusing on supporting local artists and maintaining community connections while we have to remain apart. Right now staff are busily running trials on different platforms, checking in with artists and working through ideas of how to best serve the community. We are looking forward to reconnecting with you all on the web! Look for ongoing announcements about online programming on our new dedicated webpage- Remote Theater. You can check it out at TheZ.org/remote-theater

To kick it all off, we want to hear from you! This Thursday Sibel Galindez will host a Creative Office Hours networking event via Zoom. She’ll be leading a discussion on the topic, “What does a meaningful virtual theater or event experience look like?” This session will be on Thursday, March 26th at 7:30pm. Details are posted on our Remote Theater page.

Though our physical box office remains closed, our box office staff is working throughout to stay connected with patrons. If you bought tickets to a show that’s already been affected, they’ve likely already been in touch; if not, they will be soon. You can exchange your tickets for another upcoming event (we are definitely going to be here after this all passes!), donate your tickets to The Z’s Ticket Bank, or get a refund. Box Office staff are available by phone for any questions Tuesdays – Fridays from 12pm-6pm at 757-499-0317.

Stay tuned for our new virtual schedule. We’ll be updating social media and our dedicated webpage TheZorg/covid19.

Cheers,
The Z Team
