The VB Comedy Fest is back for its third year and it’s better than ever. This November 4th-6th, join us at The Z for three kinds of comedy: Stand Up, Improv, and Sketch. We’ll feature the best local comedy acts alongside some of our favorite national talent, and throw in workshops and networking events for good measure.

    • 7:00 PM- Plan B Comedy Improv Jam (Main Stage Theater)
      • Plan B Comedy hosts an improv jam!  Think of it as an open rehearsal/workshop.  It’s a great opportunity to work with new people, ask questions and laugh.  Everyone is invited to participate or watch or both, you do you but come do it with us.
    • 8:30 PM- Showcase Standup (Studio Theater)
      • Featuring: Rome Davis, Parker Clay, Jounte Ferguson, Ryan Valentine, John Rademacher

    • 8:00 PM- Improv and Sketch Showcase (Studio Theater)
      • Featuring: Valerie Paschall, Ray Kirby, Tim Macklin, Lionel Harris, David Griffin, Brendan Kennedy
    • 9:00 PM- Plan B Comedy Show (Main Stage Theater)
      • Plan B Comedy performs a fast paced, fun and emotionally provocative improv show. You’ll leave with a sense of empowerment and self worth, or you’ll just have a great time laughing, you decide!!!
    • 10:00 PM- Late Night Variety Show, R rated (Studio Theater)
      • Featuring: Liz Barlow, Mindy Ess, Big Vino, ComicKaze Sketch Comedy, John Gilbreath

    • 2:00 PM- Workshop with Elizabeth Byland (Main Stage Theater)
      • Stand Up Workshop:
        • The Performer’s Playground
          • You step out to center stage… and there you stay, because it’s comfortable, right?  But what about the world that you’ve yet to explore downstage right? Or what happens if…dare I say it… you step off the stage and initiate a scene from the audience?  Whaaaaaat!? Whether you’re a new improviser, stand-up, or experienced at both, this workshop will give you the confidence to step outside of your center stage comfort zone and discover the magical possibilities that await all around you!  The theatre is your playground!  Now, let’s explore the hell out of it!
          • Things to know:  This is a physical workshop, so we’ll be getting out of our heads and into our bodies and exploring the space.  Be sure to dress comfortably, bring water, and wear shoes that you can move in, like sneaky sneaks… that’s what I call sneakers,  but it’s more fun to call em’ sneaky sneaks.

      • Improv comedy Character workshop:
        • Harnessing Your Truth (aka Cut the Bullsh*t)
          • This workshop will focus on enriching our comedy by releasing the armor, digging past the surface level bullsh*t choices, and harnessing the truth within, i.e. the real YOU!  We are digging deep in this workshop and bringing our most authentic beautiful selves to the comedy.  Leave the excuses and the bullsh*t at the door.  Just bring YOU.
